Highways Engineer

Are you an experienced Highways Engineer with strong expertise in Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs) and Civil Parking schemes?

The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, development, and implementation of TROs, parking management initiatives, and associated highway engineering solutions. You will work closely with local authorities, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, compliantly, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage Traffic Regulation Orders from concept through to implementation
  • Develop and review civil parking and traffic management schemes
  • Produce technical drawings, reports, and supporting documentation
  • Liaise with local authorities, contractors, and key stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with relevant highways, parking, and traffic legislation
  • Support consultation processes and respond to public or stakeholder feedback
  • Contribute to project planning, budgeting, and programme delivery

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in highways engineering, specifically TROs and Civil Parking
  • Strong understanding of UK highways and traffic legislation
  • Experience working with local authorities or consultancy environments
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficiency with relevant highways design software is advantageous
