Manufacturing Operative

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Manufactuing Operative to join a busy manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for preparing and finishing  components to a high standard, ensuring parts meet strict quality and dimensional requirements before progressing through production.

The successful candidate will have experience working with engineered components and be confident using a range of hand tools, measuring equipment, and finishing techniques within a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out finishing and preparation work on machined metal components
• Remove excess material, sharp edges, and surface imperfections using hand and power tools
• Interpret engineering drawings and work instructions
• Inspect components to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy
• Use measuring equipment
• Work closely with machining and quality teams to maintain production standards
• Ensure all work is completed within required timescales
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment
• Follow all health & safety and company quality procedures

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience within a manufacturing, finishing, or component preparation role
• Experience working within engineering or precision manufacturing environments
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Experience using hand tools and measuring equipment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good organisational skills and a proactive attitude
