My client is a globally renowned, award winning engineering company, currently employing over 8000 people in over 20 countries across the globe.
They have enjoyed unrivalled success in the engineering market for well over 70 years.
They currently require a Head of Engineering - Electrical and Instrumentation to be based in Qatar.
You will have strong oil & gas experience upstream, downstream, product storage & movement, utilities & off-site - FULL MULTI-DISCIPLINE.
You must have experience of O&G plant electrical & instrumentation engineering.
Electrical shall cover power generation, distribution, HV/LV voltages, protection systems studies, procurement specifications, technical bid evaluations and detail design.
Instrumentation shall cover control systems (DCS, ESD, F&G) system architecture, functional design specifications, cause & effect, graphics definition, procurement specifications, technical bid evaluations and detail design. Instrumentation to also cover field instrumentation experience of pressure, level, flow, temperature instrumentation.
You will come with a minimum of 15 years core engineering experience in a multi-discipline environment. Must have worked as E&I engineer / lead engineer and have MUST HAVE managed a E&I department for an Engineering organization.
EPC experience is essential. Excellent leadership, ownership, communication and presentation skills. Experience of managing an eastern work team is essential.
Responsibilities will include:
Functionally under engineering operations role. Sole responsibility for the management of the Electrical & Instrumentation engineering department, management & co-ordination of all E&I engineering work and department personnel.
Ensure efficient E&I engineering support to all projects. All E&I inter-discipline co-ordination with other engineering departments. Planning & scheduling of work to meet deadlines. Work allocation to engineering personnel.
Complete department quality control in line with company IMS requirements.
Standardization and consistency of timely engineering output.
Performance assessment of department personnel.
Preparation and implementation of department working standards & procedures for efficient and effective work practices.
Ensuring VALUE ADD is brought to all projects from an EPC perspective. (i.e. SMART design / VALUE engineering).
